Lotus-S – a Russian military satellite, developed by the specialists of Machine-building Plant "Arsenal" and specialists of the State Research and Production Rocket -space Center (CBCB-PROGRESS).
Satellite Lotos-S is designed to update the space segment of the electronic intelligence (RTS) of Russia. Lotos-S is a part of the Russian military program "Liana", which consists of two spacecraft: Lotus-S and the Peony-NCS. They have to replace the on-orbit operating electronic system of Soviet design "Tselina-2", designed and developed by the Ukrainian CB Yuzhmash.
