The Fabrics and Banners Collection houses a collection of festive decorations from Petrograd-Leningrad for various anniversaries and commemorative dates. The most expressive and original are the oriflammes—festive banners that adorned Nevsky Prospekt during the 70th anniversary of the Great October Socialist Revolution in 1987. They were mounted in special frames and attached to utility poles along Nevsky Prospekt. All the oriflammes are executed in the artistic style of the late 1910s and early 1920s.
